Week Five

After several busy weeks, we took the opportunity to just relax these past few days, before our next big adventure starts tomorrow.

Father-son bonding time.

Looking all grown up and handsome.

Week Four

This week was busy with fun adventures and more adjustments to parenting. Kai's been sleeping through the night pretty consistently though, so we're very thankful for that. We've come to realize over the past few weeks what a luxury a full night's sleep really is!
Since Kai was born, he has not been gaining as much weight as he should be.  So, in order to help him start gaining weight we had to start supplementing with a bottle. From the first try he loved his bottle, and now we have a much happier and chubbier baby! He is also getting very strong and loves holding himself up on his elbows and looking all around. He is so curious and it seems like he needs to see what is going on all the time.
We also took Kai on his first ski trip this week! Schweitzer wasn't open yet, but Bryon took Kai in the Baby Bjorn and skiied down one of the runs while I drove down and met them at the bottom. Both father and son loved it, so hopefully there will be many more family ski adventures to come.

Week Three

Papa and Gramma Budensiek came for a visit this week. They loved holding and cuddling with Kai, even though he managed to pee all over Gramma the very first time she held him! It was a fun weekend, and we're looking forward to seeing them again at Christmas in Colorado.
We had many other visitors this week as well. Rick's cousin Jim and his wife Nancy came from Libby, Montana for a visit while Rick and Sue were here. And, the wonderful families from our small group delivered meals to us every day. What a blessing! It was so nice to just have time to spend with Kai, instead of worrying about grocery shopping and cooking. Thanks girls!

Kai's Second Week

This week was the first week that Kai and I were completely on our own during the day since Grandpa and Grandma Gamache left to go back to Canada.  We survived though and had lots of fun together, but we definitely looked forward to noon hour and 5:00 when Bryon came home from work!

Attempting a little smile.

All kinds of mail for the most popular member of our family!
