September...Oh What a Month It's Been!

September has come and gone with a vengeance.  Root canal, lost wallet (and green card...eek!), car troubles, police ticket, broken dishwasher, flat tire etc. etc.  It seemed like things just kept getting worse as the weeks of September went by so I was so thankful for fun things like Bryon's birthday and our 5th anniversary to break it up!  And of course there are many things to be thankful for like my wallet being returned, and everyone still being alive and healthy!
With the cooler weather of fall upon us, Kai and I have been spending less time at the beach, but have found plenty of other activities to keep us busy...story time at the library, bike rides, gardening and harvesting our produce, trips to the park and lots of time with friends.  And, Bryon, amidst lots of craziness at work and studying at home, has made time for fun family activites with us too.

Labour Day weekend in Coeur D'Alene while we waited for our car to be fixed.

Kai was so disgruntled the other morning when he woke up because he'd somehow gotten his arm and pjs all twisted around and couldn't get it back out!

Kai loves all of the new heights he can scale.

Another Wednesday night adventure with daddy and Kai's first time playing frisbee golf.  This was probably one of my favourite activities we've ever done with Kai since he was just as into it as we were and could actually do it himself (after a few practice throws with daddy).

We had a picnic by the lake after our game of frisbee golf.

Nobody's a better reader than daddy, with all of his funny voices and made-up tunes.

A fun evening at the park with friends.  Too bad it gets dark so early now :(

Friends from college stopped in to see us for a day while on their 3-week roadtrip.

Kai loved Dreibert's "bus".

"Yummy tummy" (as Kai says) pink icing at Kiana's 4th birthday.

This is how Kai listens to music....cuddled up on the couch with a puzzle.  Every now and then he'll get up and dance, but otherwise he'll sit for at least half an hour just enjoying the music.

So so many yummy fresh tomatoes from our garden = lots of pasta sauce, salads, chili and pizza!

Kai doesn't have many toys, but he's sure inventive with the ones he does have.  This week one of his train cars became his skateboard :)
Helping make apple sauce.

Bryon and Kai have been having nightly soccer practice at Memorial Field.  So cute!

I had a much needed girls' night out on Friday and Bryon and Kai attempted to have a sleep-over in the shed....when Kai was still awake at 11pm they aborted their attempt and returned inside where Kai fell asleep as soon as his poor little head hit the crib mattress :)
