29!

Bryon has finally joined me at 29...Happy Birthday!!  Sadly, Bryon's real birthday was spent working in Spokane, followed by an evening of studying at home for an exam he had to take the following day.  However, Kai and I surprised him with a fun outing the week before...

Getting ready to bike the Hiawatha Trail.  We did a 12.5 mile portion, following an old railroad downhill through tunnels and over bridges.  Two and a half hours later we were at the bottom and caught the shuttle bus back up.

Kai was really excited by all of the tunnels and bridges and didn't get tired of the very bumpy ride until the very end.

Nice and cozy in his bike trailer, complete with snacks, "Bear Bear" and "Gus Gus".

Bryon requested Cherry Squares for his birthday dessert (sometimes I wish he liked chocolate as much as he likes cherries!).

Kai liked his dessert so much he licked his plate clean :)

And this is how Bryon got to spend the rest of his birthday evening before starting to study...rescuing our car with a flat tire from City Beach.
Poor Bryon!  Hopefully your 30th birthday won't include flat tires and studying for exams!
