10/20/10 - The Day He Turned One

I have to admit that I cried a few tears the day before our little Kai/Kaibo/Bobo/Bobby turned 1.  What a great first year of parenthood this has been with our curious, feisty, lovable, sweet, and enthusiastic little guy.  He has brought more joy to our lives than I ever imagined possible.  We are truly blessed.
Here is a look at the day he turned 1.

6:30 a.m. - Bryon has to leave early for a work seminar and decides that he needs to wake Kai up before he leaves.  Usually Kai sleeps until a blissful 7:30, but daddy needs to see his birthday boy :)
Peek-a-Boo Sleepyhead!

6:40 - A quick story with daddy before he leaves for work.

7:00 - Breakfast, complete with French Toast and blueberry sauce.

Happy Birthday Skype call from Grandpa and Grandma Gamache.

7:45 - Playtime

10:00 - Naptime

11:30 - Rise and Shine

11:45 - Lunch

12:30 - Walk to the park where we meet some friends and have lots of fun sliding and swinging.

3:00 - Nap

4:30 - Wake up, ready to party!

5:17 - Birth-minute kiss (name that show!)

5:30 - Dinner while chatting on the phone with Gramma and Papa Budensiek, and chatting on Skype with Aunt Jenni and cousin Andrew.

6:00 - Playtime while daddy goes to Youth Group.

7:00 - Skype call with Aunty Jenn, Uncle Jeff, Kaden, Emma and Abby.
7:15 - Bathtime, complete with the ever mysterious bubbles!

7:30 - Daddy gets home and it's time for our little family party.

Using sign language to ask us for "more".

8:00 - Trying out the new football with daddy.

8:15 - So sad that the football has to go "night night".

8:30 - Tucked sweetly into bed.  Goodnight my precious 1 year old!

Twelve months of Kai

For Kai's birthday party I displayed 12 pictures - one from each of the first 12 months of his life.  Here they are for those of you who sadly couldn't be here to celebrate with us in person.  Hasn't he changed?!

Our 1 Year Old

Our friend, Brian, took these pictures of Kai for us this past weekend.  I didn't want posed portraits, or pictures with my child sitting in a pumpkin with butterfly wings on.  I just wanted them to be really natural and to capture him doing what he does best - playing!  I absolutely love how they turned out.  Here's a little sampling.
