Change of Seasons

Around our house we love the change in seasons.  Hawaii drove us a bit crazy because the change in seasons was so minimal.  Portland has given us a solid three months of blue skies and sunshine which we embraced til the very end with bike rides, trips to the beach and basically just lots of time outside. And now the rain and leaves have both started falling and we're embracing that too.  Evening puddle-jumping walks around the neighborhood, collecting acorns at nearby parks, drinking hot chocolate, turning on our thermostat and stocking up on good books to read by the fire.  It's good.  And, yes, in a few months time I'm sure we'll be longing for sunshine again, but until then we'll enjoy what we have!

Our friend Laura stopped by for a little visit on her way through Portland, and we finally got to meet her sweet baby Bennett.  Kai was pretty excited to play "big brother" for an afternoon, and equally as excited to dig some of his baby toys and books out of storage.

Biking along the Columbia River...

...which of course ended in rock-throwing...

...and dancing.

Some frisbee golf in Hood River.  Kai always gets really into it which is fun to watch.

So excited to see the farm animals at "The Pumpkin Patch" .

A trip to Multnomah Falls with Aunty Lindsay
