Could somebody please tell me when this baby...
Hard to believe but Kai just turned 3!
On his actual birthday we decided to have a special family day. We went to the zoo (Kai's first time to ever visit a zoo and he was mesmerized!), ate yummy food and cupcakes of course, napped, opened presents, talked to family on Skype and basically just enjoyed being together.
Then, the following day we joined in with friends (whose daughter is only 2 days younger than Kai) and had a little get together at a park with several neighborhood friends. The kids played in the leaves, we drank hot cider, we all sang happy birthday and we called it a day. It was uncomplicated (translation: non-overwhelming for our easily-overwhelmed child) and fun!
Now I just need to wrap my head around the fact that I'm the mother of a three year old!
Kai on the other hand is thrilled to be three and apparently feels like time isn't quite moving fast enough for his liking. On his birthday he commented to Bryon, "Daddy, I've been two for a reaaaalllly long time."
