The Real Thanksgiving

Bryon and I always argue over "the real Thanksgiving".  But, since I'm the writer of the blog in our household, I will refer to Canadian Thanksgiving as the real Thanksgiving :)  Bryon, if you happen to be reading this, you can write the post about your own real Thanksgiving in November.

Anyways, for Thanksgiving this year we actually celebrated with my family in Canada.  We haven't been able to do that for a long time...I think since before we were married.  It was good.  Although my parents are away on a three month missions trip in Hungary, all of us siblings were able to be together which also doesn't happen that often.  Here are a few pictures of our weekend together.

Saturday was beautiful and we enjoyed a lovely hike/bike at Golden Ears Provincial Park.

The kids were crazy brave and swam twice!

The family!
That night we had an early birthday celebration for Emma and Kai, whose birthdays are only one week apart in October.

Kai, after some serious sleep-deprivation and loads of excitement and over-stimulation, broke down into tears when we sang "Happy Birthday", covering his ears and saying, "It's too loud!"  But, he recovered after some cake and ice-cream of course.

The cousins gave Kai lots of great gifts, including a picnic basket (having picnics is one of his favourite activities to do with them) filled with all kinds of play food.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Several attempts at a cousins picture...and even with 5 of us adults attempting to make Kai smile/look at the camera we were mostly unsuccessful.  Sad!

Buddies
Whenever I ask Kai if he's so-and-so's buddy, he responds by saying, "No, I'm Kaden's buddy."  Cute.
